Innovative, affordable living.
On the east side of our Hanover campus, amidst four acres of lush lawns, flowering
trees, tall pines and abundant perennial beds, you will find one of the most
innovative housing programs in the state. Here, in a brick and clapboard apartment complex, there are 150 units of Project Based Section 8
one and two-bedroom apartments, making our campus a unique intergenerational housing community.
This unique program includes:
- Supportive Living Program. Comprehensive services, including a meal program and Visiting Nurse visits to enable residents to age in place.
- Cushing Computer Learning Center. Helps seniors become comfortable with computers, the Internet, and email through instruction.
- Community Living Program. in which our Community Living Counselors provide activities and services for our younger, disabled residents. The weekend and evening hours provide our disabled population with such activities as bowling, group dinners, coffee houses, movie nights and game nights as well as assistance with living in an independent, communal setting. Cushing Residence has won industry awards because of the success of this program and the harmonious living that exists between our seniors and our younger disabled residents.
- Resident Service Coordinator. In addition to these unique services, Cushing Residence also offers much of the same programming found at traditional HUD developments. A full-time staff person assists residents with many of the daily problems they encounter as they age. Recreational and social programming regularly occurs to assist residents to broaden their circle of friends and promote interaction. To learn more about Cushing Residence, please call (781) 826-6211.
